It’s not about you; it’s USER-centered design

Just because you think it’s cool doesn’t make it cool. Does the customer think it’s cool? The objective for most in-venue interactive is either: attract, engage or transact – or some combination thereof. While striving to connect with the customer, it’s important that the experience doesn’t result in a frustrating one, therefore the user and the user experience (UX) must be at the center of all design.

Tim Huckaby is an industry luminary focused on emerging user experiences, user interaction design and the natural user interface (NUI). Tim has been awarded many times for the highest rated keynotes & presentations for Microsoft and many other industry and technology conferences like CES and events world-wide. He is consistently rated in the top 10% of all speakers at these events. Having worked for or with Microsoft for over 25 years, Tim has been on stage with, and done numerous keynote demos for many Microsoft executives including Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.

Mark Tan | Sr. Product Manager, User Experience | Amazon

Mark Tan is currently a Sr. Product Manager at Amazon focusing on user experience for consumer sellers and used products. His work spans across different categories, which includes video games, electronics, books, music and movies. He is also managing a non-profit organization, Luminated Career Consulting and acts as an advisor for University of Washington, Foster School of Business BIG Consulting Program. Previously, he worked as Product Manager for Quixey, a mobile app search and discovery startup based in California, establishing groundwork for deep-linking during its early stages and integrating this technology to partners such as Alibaba.

Christopher Hall is Managing Director of ICX Association. Prior to this position he was managing editor of content for B2B publisher Networld Media Group, and the editor of DigitalSignageToday.com, the leading news portal for the digital signage industry, covering digital out of-home advertising, digital billboards, experiential digital branding, and digital signage hardware, software and displays. An award-winning former newspaper reporter and magazine writer, Christopher is a five-year veteran of the digital signage and kiosk industries who has consulted for and spoken on the digital signage industry sector-wide.
